It’s August. You have survived the insanity and greatness of summer student ministry. I am always impressed by the guys who just get it done summer after summer, the ones who run hard and serve well. As you begin to breathe again after the past couple of months and the half-day off you had the entire summer, I wanted to share with you one of the highlights of my year.
Over the past 16 years, Rock the Universe at Universal Studios has been a labor of love for many of us. Universal Studios has graciously hosted the Youth Pastor Summit and Rock the Universe year after year, and this year they have put together the ultimate lineup of artist and worship: Chris Tomlin, LeCrae, David Crowder and Casting Crowns to list a few. Rock the Universe is a high energy, world-class event where your students and young adults hear the gospel, great music and ride the best roller coasters in the Southeast. Of course, there is also the stirring candlelight service to close out Saturday night.
I know there are a lot demands on your time this part of the year, but Universal has put together a great opportunity for your students to attend one or both nights (Buy tickets). I want to challenge you, whether it's Friday night, Saturday night or both for us to demonstrate our thanks to Universal Studios for their investment in us at the Youth Pastor Summit all of these years. I'd love to spend a few minutes with you and your group during the weekend. Please let me know if there is any way we could help make this a reality for you.
Putting a dent in the Universe,
Dr. Jay Strack
