In just over twenty years, Student Leadership University’s ministry has grown from 50 students and one conference to a now comprehensive and holistic leadership development journey. Our programs now consist of Student Leadership University 101, 201, 301 and 401, Youth Pastor Summit conferences in 6 states, and twenty-three stops on The Lift Tour. In recent years, YPS and The Lift Tour have experienced incredible growth leading to a culture of celebration in our team and organization. On a personal note, rarely a week goes by where I’m not blown away that the Lord allows us to serve so many student ministry practitioners through YPS and tens of thousands of students through The Lift Tour. These are truly exciting days!
And that is why, on behalf of Dr. Jay Strack and the entire team at SLU, I am so very excited to announce the newest member of our family, Jeff Wallace. Jeff is a visionary leader, a trusted and respected voice in student ministry, and has been an incredible friend to our ministry for years. He will serve as the Executive Director of YPS and The Lift Tour. In the coming days, weeks, and months, Jeff and I will be hitting the road hard to connect with as many youth workers, educators and pastors as possible. True to our culture, Jeff is highly relational and wants to meet face to face with the amazing individuals our organization is privileged to serve. Jeff is nationally known as an urban ministry communicator, innovator, and leader. His straight-forward, illustrative, and in your face style of communication has impacted the lives of thousands of students and youth leaders around the world. His transparency, compassion for others, passion for students, love for ministry, and experience makes him an asset to the body of Christ and to leaders looking to take their ministry to the next level and beyond the box. He understands the importance of being a balanced communicator by having an inspirational and creative delivery to capture and captivate the audience to which he is speaking.
For the previous 20 years, Jeff has served as Pastor of Youth Development at Peace Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia, where he oversaw all of the children, student, and young adult programming, and then transitioned to the role of Executive Pastor at Peace Baptist. Jeff is also the Founder of FrontLine Urban Resources, Inc., which is an organization that provides resources and trainings to help leaders engage an evolving generation of families as well as teaching them how to redefine and reshape their traditional views of urban culture. Jeff received his undergraduate education from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia and he is in the process of completing his M.Div. from Indian Wesleyan University. Following the completion of the M.Div. program, Jeff has plans to pursue his PhD.
Jeff has produced several resources designed to empower and equip youth leaders, parents, and students in urban environments. He is the author of “Urban Ministry from Start to Finish”, co-author of “Everybody’s Urban”, “Urban LIVE curriculum”, “The Skinny on Communication” and “99 Things Every Guy Should Know”. He is a writer in the Simple Truth Bible and a contributor in Reggie Joiner’s “Creating a Lead Small Culture” book. Jeff enjoys living life with his wife Quovadis and three boys, Jeffrey, Christopher, and Cameron.
