With 30 years of Student Ministry in the local church, God has taught me a lot along the way and my heart is to share some of these experiences to encourage and inspire other youth pastors.
Married to Shelley for the past 25 years. We have two children (girls) and a son in-law. They are the love of my life! Really enjoy being their dad and watching them grow up to love the Lord, the church and now the ministry they are called too!
Currently we are serving as the High School Pastor at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis TN.
My bachelors degree is from Carson-Newman College and my masters in Religious Education specializing in youth ministry is from Southwestern Seminary! (I learned from the best, Richard Ross, Wes Black and others.)
Over these years I’ve had the honor of serving in small, medium, large and extra-large sized churches. The Lord has definitely shaped my perspective in student ministry and I have grown to love what I do and how I go about doing it.
When I surrendered to youth ministry in high school, my youth pastor, Bryan Hall helped shape my calling with me. He is one of the best and another “lifer” in student ministry and spent 35 years at the same church in Austin TX and has recently retired. He genuinely made a HUGE difference in my ministry and I’m honored to be mentored by him and want to do the same for others.
